ALAGA Sweet Potato Pie


  • 1 Large Bowl
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Electric mixer


  • 1 1/2 c. cooked or canned sweet potatoes
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 c. ALAGA Cane Syrup
  • 3 T. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie shell
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mash the sweet potatoes and put them in a large bowl.
  • Add the ALAGA Cane Syrup, sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and melted butter. Mix thoroughly.
  • Beat egg yolks and milk to sweet potato mixture.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until stiff.
  • Fold egg whites into the sweet potato mixture.
  • Pour mixture into the pie shell and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center of the pie comes out clean.
